Your work will be focused on developing protoypes and application examples using Model Based Design for implementations of Communications systems. You will develop and apply deep knowledge of MathWorks software and FPGA vendors' tools and apply them to create prototypes of major features that you will later see in our products. You will work with MathWorks engineers to integrate emerging FPGA prototyping platforms from numerous hardware vendors, create demos to ship with the product, write use case descriptions, and propose improvements to our integration workflows.
Facility with MATLAB and Simulink is necessary. You will need HDL design skills with VHDL or Verilog and the ability to simulate and verify HDL designs with digital logic simulation. Exposure to FPGA development tools including synthesis, place and route and programming file generation is helpful; You should be familiar with the fundamentals of SoC hardware: a working understanding of the basics of processors, busses, peripherals, memories. Familiarity with wireless communication systems would be an advantage. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.
Typical FPGA tools: Xilinx System Generator, Altera DSP Builder, Synplicity Synplify Pro, ModelSim, Incisive.
Nice to have: tcl/tk, C, C++.
